ViX has announced the exclusive premiere of “Bajo un volcán,” an action-romance film featuring stars William Levy and Maggie Civantos, set to debut on November 24 on its premium service.
Filmed in the picturesque setting of Tenerife, the film intricately weaves together themes of romance and action against a dramatic backdrop of natural disaster. The story revolves around Captain Mario Torres, portrayed by Levy, a military pilot and evacuation expert dispatched to the island following a series of seismic activities that escalate the area’s alert status. Although the volcano appears to have settled, Dani, played by Civantos, a volcanologist, cautions that the calm is deceptive. Her warnings go unheeded until the volcano unexpectedly erupts, plunging the characters into chaos as they grapple with both the looming dangers of nature and their burgeoning feelings for each other.
Directed by Martín Cuervo, known for previous titles such as “La Bandera” and “Todos lo hacen,” “Bajo un volcán” also features talented actors including Fabiola Guajardo, Adriana Torrebejano, Elia Galera, Antón Lofer, and Pino Montesdeoca.
William Levy, who not only stars in the film but also serves as an executive producer, expressed his excitement about the project, stating, “I’m thrilled to premiere my first film shot in Spain and to do so with ViX, a service that connects in such a special way with Spanish-speaking audiences.”
The film is produced by Eduardo Campoy and David Martínez of Secuoya Studios, alongside William Levy Entertainment, marking an important milestone as Levy’s film debut in Spain. Following its theatrical run in Spanish cinemas, it will be exclusively available to viewers in the United States and Latin America through ViX, promising to engage audiences with its thrilling narrative and heartfelt moments.
