RICHMOND, Va. — Monday’s weather forecast indicates a sunny and cool day with periodic breezes. High temperatures are expected to reach the upper 60s to around 70 degrees Fahrenheit, while overnight lows will drop to the mid 30s in the northwest and the mid 40s in the southeast.

On Tuesday, conditions will warm up with sunny skies and highs in the low to mid 70s. A cold front is predicted to move through the area Tuesday night, bringing a minimal chance of rain, mostly affecting northern Virginia.

The outlook for the remainder of the week is cool and dry, with temperatures reflecting highs in the 60s and lows between the 30s and 40s. The upcoming weekend forecast shows a dry Saturday, although Sunday may bring more clouds and a few isolated showers.

In tropical news, a wave currently nearing the Windward Islands has a strong likelihood of developing as it progresses into the Caribbean Sea in the coming days. Should it form into a recognized storm, it will be named Melissa.

Additionally, those looking up in the skies might catch a glimpse of the Comet Lemmon, which is currently visible to the naked eye. For those seeking a closer look, binoculars or a telescope will provide an even better view.
