The 2025 Fiji Golf Open tournament held at the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa, Suva, concluded successfully on Sunday after three days of competitive play. Vikrant Chandra claimed the title of Professionals Champion, while Shakeel Pillay and Raina Kumar emerged as the overall gross champions in the Men’s and Women’s categories, respectively.
The tournament kicked off on Fiji Day and was played under overcast skies, drawing participants from across the country, as well as from Australia and New Zealand. A total of 130 golfers participated in this year’s event, emphasizing the rising interest and enthusiasm for golf in Fiji.
Fiji Golf member Alvin Nair highlighted the significance of the event, stating, “This is the biggest tournament that the Fiji Golf Club organizes, and it spans three days.” He praised the well-maintained, dry golf course, which provided an ideal environment for players to enjoy the game fully.
The tournament enjoyed significant support from several sponsors, including VONU Beer, Coca-Cola, Crest Chicken, Tappoos, EasyPar Golf, and Crowne Plaza. Now in its 55th year, the Fiji Golf Open has demonstrated remarkable growth, showcasing the sport’s increasing popularity in the region.
