Cleveland State Vikings Update: A Busy Week Ahead

The Cleveland State Vikings are gearing up for an action-packed week as they continue their Horizon League schedule. The team is set to hit the road for two games, facing Robert Morris on Wednesday, January 8, and Youngstown State on Saturday, January 11. Currently, the Vikings are riding a six-game winning streak, with their most recent victory being a 67-61 triumph over IU Indy. With a record of 4-1 in Horizon League play, they are tied for second place in the standings.

This week marks the first time since early December that the Vikings will be playing away from home. Following their road games, Cleveland State will return to their home court to host Purdue Fort Wayne on Sunday, January 12. The Vikings have an impressive home record, having won 29 consecutive home games, which ranks second among Division I teams.

In addition to basketball, the Vikings also have wrestling events on the schedule. They will compete for the first time this season at the David H. Lehman ’68 F&M Open on Friday. The wrestling team started their MAC action last week with a strong performance, achieving four wins, with Douglas Terry competing impressively at 157 lbs and achieving a perfect 3-0 record in dual matches.

The week’s schedule looks promising, with several events lined up:
– Men’s Basketball at Robert Morris – 7:00 p.m.
– Wrestling at David H. Lehman ’68 F&M Open – All Day
– Swim & Dive hosting Calvin – 4:00 p.m.
– Men’s Basketball at Youngstown State – 2:00 p.m.
– Women’s Basketball hosting Purdue Fort Wayne – 2:00 p.m.

As Cleveland State aims to build on its successes, fans can look forward to a thrilling week of competition. The team’s strong performance and commitment may propel them further in the standings, fostering enthusiasm among supporters and students alike.
