A team from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) is set to extract and verify information disclosed by a former police officer through a social media video. The video has raised serious allegations regarding the involvement of public officials in the illicit drug trade.

Assistant Commissioner of Police – Crime, Mesake Waqa, stated that the next steps will be determined following the completion of the verification process. He emphasized that the investigation is already underway, as police have been working proactively to identify connections to those involved in drug trafficking. This initiative aligns with the Commissioner of Police’s directive aimed at dismantling the networks of individuals and groups operating within this illegal activity.

The police’s proactive measures demonstrate a commitment to addressing the drug problem and ensuring accountability for those who breach the law, including public officials. As the verification process unfolds, hopes are high that it will lead to significant breakthroughs in tackling the drug trade and restoring public trust.
