Victoria Jackson, former Saturday Night Live cast member, has announced that doctors have discovered an inoperable tumor in her windpipe during her ongoing battle with cancer. In a video from her Instagram series titled “Is the Cancer Back?”, Jackson revealed that her cancer has returned and estimated she has about three years left to live.
Jackson shared that medical professionals cannot remove the tumor, which she described as the size of a marble sitting on her windpipe, potentially leading to suffocation. She mentioned her treatment plan includes a “magic pill” that will be arriving at her home soon. This medication, based on Ribociclib, is intended to shrink the tumor and slow the cancer’s progression.
After researching the expected outcomes of the treatment, Jackson noted that patients typically have a life expectancy of approximately 32.6 months while on the medication. Despite the grim prognosis, the actress remained optimistic, reflecting on her life as “fantastic” and acknowledging the weight of seeing a timeline for her life. She expressed a desire to witness significant family events, like the birth of her grandson, Jimmy, in October, and to see her daughter Aubrey become a mother.
Having publicly disclosed her breast cancer diagnosis in 2016, Jackson was part of Saturday Night Live from 1986 to 1992, known for her memorable appearances on “Weekend Update” and impersonations of celebrities such as Roseanne Barr and Zsa Zsa Gabor. Recently, she also shared on social media that she was undergoing a CT scan to determine if cancer cells from her breast cancer had spread.
In a lighthearted note on her Instagram video, she added, “I have 34.8 months to live if I don’t get hit by a meteor, shot by a MAGA hater, get Covid again or WWIII breaks out.”
