WAITSFIELD, Vt. – On Sunday morning, over 350 enthusiastic fans gathered at Lawson’s Finest Liquids brewery to cheer on Paula Moltzan from the Mad River Valley as she competed in the giant slalom at the Winter Olympics. The event served as a vibrant watch party and breakfast fundraiser, featuring the limited edition “Paula’s World” beer, specially brewed to honor the local Olympic athlete.
The Warren Fire Department played a vital role in the event, providing delicious breakfast items such as pancakes, sausage, and bacon. All contributions made during the event went directly to support the fire department, highlighting the community’s spirit of camaraderie and support.
Lawson’s Finest Liquids, a proud sponsor of Moltzan, emphasized the importance of community engagement in its mission. “For us, this is exactly what this building is for — it’s a community event, it’s a community space, and what an awesome event to put on and celebrate our hometown hero Paula Moltzan,” stated Seth Talmon, the brewery’s vice president of sales.
The brewery plans to keep selling “Paula’s World” IPA four-packs until supplies last, anticipating a rapid sell-out due to the high demand and the community’s enthusiasm for supporting their Olympian.
This event not only showcased local pride but also reinforced the sense of unity within the community, as residents rallied together to support one of their own on a global stage.
