At one point, more than 100,000 users reported problems via Downdetector, which indicated hotspots in cities like New York and Atlanta, with outages appearing to be more common on the East Coast.

Verizon spokesperson Ilya Hemlin acknowledged the situation, stating, “We are aware of an issue impacting service for some customers. Our engineers are engaged and we are working quickly to identify and solve the issue.”

By the afternoon, Hemlin provided an update, noting that progress was being made and that services were beginning to be restored. He expressed regret for the inconvenience experienced by customers and assured that efforts would continue until the issue was fully resolved.
