Vanna White Reveals Surprising Thoughts on Ryan Seacrest’s Hosting Debut

Vanna White shared her initial concerns about working with Ryan Seacrest as the new host of “Wheel of Fortune” during a recent episode of CBS Sunday Morning. In her first episodes without longtime host Pat Sajak, White, 67, reflected on her relationship with Seacrest, 49, whom she has known for about two decades.

She mentioned that they had spent time traveling for the show in recent months, allowing them to develop a better rapport. “I think our chemistry is good,” she stated. However, she admitted to being apprehensive about their on-screen dynamics, saying, “I had no idea what to expect, when I’m used to one person for so long.”

White expressed her initial fear but acknowledged that Seacrest is performing well in his new role. She has been a key part of “Wheel of Fortune” since 1982, and the previous host, Sajak, announced his retirement after 41 seasons last year.

Despite rumors suggesting a lack of chemistry between White and Seacrest, an insider close to Seacrest dismissed these claims, asserting that the two have been enjoying their time on set. White also shared a photo of herself and Seacrest out for dinner, captioning it, “Friends on and off camera,” to further refute the speculation.

Seacrest began his stint as host in July and seemed to approach the role comfortably, expressing his excitement about joining such a significant franchise in television. “It’s more than a TV show,” he remarked, emphasizing the show’s meaningful impact on viewers.

White had contemplated retiring following Sajak’s departure but ultimately decided to extend her contract through the 2025-2026 season. Reflecting on Sajak’s exit, she conveyed mixed emotions, saying, “I can’t imagine doing the show without him after 41 years,” and likened the experience to finishing a great book.

“Wheel of Fortune” Season 42 is set to premiere on September 9.
