On November 5, 2024, the UTSA Main Campus will be a key venue for those participating in the presidential election, with the polls remaining open until 7 p.m. at the H-E-B Student Union Ballroom (HSU 1.106). The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is actively encouraging eligible students, faculty, staff, and community members to take part in the electoral process.
To ensure a smooth voting experience, the north section of the Ximenes Lot will be designated for free voter parking starting at 7 a.m. on Election Day. It’s important to note that vehicles belonging to non-voting individuals may be cited, emphasizing the university’s commitment to facilitating voting for those who are eligible.
Additionally, staff from the UTSA Center for Civic and Community-Engaged Leadership will be available to assist voters. They will help individuals check their voter registration status and clarify ID requirements. Non-partisan ballot guides and a helpful list of voting do’s and don’ts will also be provided, according to Maria Alejandro, the center’s program director.
Voters are reminded to bring either a valid photo ID or a secondary form of identification to ensure they can cast their votes without any issues.
This initiative reflects a broader effort to engage the community in the democratic process, showcasing UTSA’s commitment to civic participation. With various resources at hand, voters at UTSA are empowered to make their voices heard in this pivotal election.
