U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Mauricio Pochettino has announced a 26-player roster for the upcoming 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup. The team is preparing for two friendly matches before beginning group play on June 15 against Trinidad and Tobago in San Jose, California.
Pochettino expressed enthusiasm about the players selected, emphasizing the team’s goal of winning the championship and showcasing the best mentality and approach throughout the tournament. The opening match is scheduled for June 15 at PayPal Park, followed by games against Saudi Arabia on June 19 and Haiti on June 25.
Before the Gold Cup, the USMNT will host two friendlies: against Türkiye on June 7 in East Hartford, Connecticut, and a final match against Switzerland on June 10 in Nashville, Tennessee. Both matches will be broadcast across various platforms, including TNT and Peacok.
Notable inclusions in the roster are several young talents making their first appearances, such as goalkeeper Chris Brady and forward Damion Downs. Brady was recognized at the U-20 level as the tournament’s best goalkeeper in 2022, while Downs, a dual citizen, has made a name for himself in Germany.
The Gold Cup serves as a significant benchmark for the USMNT ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which the country co-hosts. The U.S. will strive for its eighth Gold Cup title, having previously triumphed in 1991, 2002, 2005, 2007, 2013, 2017, and 2021.
Fans are encouraged to engage with the USMNT through their social media platforms and the official U.S. Soccer App as they embark on this exciting journey. This year’s edition of the Gold Cup promises thrilling matches as teams vie for regional supremacy, and the competition showcases the increasing depth and talent within U.S. soccer.
