The USC men’s golf team concluded the William H. Tucker Invitational on September 21 at the University of New Mexico Championship Course, finishing 11th out of 17 teams. They entered the final day in 9th place but dropped two spots, ending the tournament with a score of 23-over par. The team struggled, with only two squads—Colorado and UNLV—finishing at or below par. Colorado led the tournament at 2-under overall, while USC’s performance was hindered by a challenging course that saw increasing wind and difficult conditions.

USC head coach highlighted the need for the team to improve, noting a lack of toughness and problems with both short par holes and speed putting that affected their momentum. The Trojans’ junior golfer carded a 77 in the final round, finishing tied for 26th at one-over par for the tournament. Three players from USC—two sophomores and a senior—tied for 54th place, each ending at eight-over par. Competing individually, a freshman also performed well, finishing five-over for the day. Another junior golfer ended the tournament 18-over par after carding an 83 on the final day.

The Trojans will next compete at the SMU Trinity Forest Invitational from October 6 to 8, their first three-day tournament of the season at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas. Fans can follow the USC men’s golf team on social media for updates and results.
