US Open Tees Off: Major Stars Take on Oakmont’s Challenge!

The 125th US Open is set to commence at the prestigious Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania, with a talented lineup of golfers competing for the title. Rory McIlroy will start his quest for a second major title this year with an early-late draw, teeing off alongside Shane Lowry and England’s Justin Rose, whom he recently defeated in a playoff to secure The Masters in April.

Defending champion Bryson DeChambeau will also participate in the early rounds, playing with two-time major winner Xander Schauffele and US Amateur champion Jose Luis Ballester. Meanwhile, world number one Scottie Scheffler, looking to retain his championship title, will begin his round later in the day alongside Viktor Hovland and Collin Morikawa.

Participants’ tee times are staggered throughout the day, with notable names including Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, and Dustin Johnson also taking to the course. Coverage of the tournament will be available on Sky Sports, featuring more than 40 hours of live broadcasting, starting on Thursday at 12:30 PM.

As Oakmont is known for its challenging layout, it provides a defining test for all competitors. Golf analysts have noted that while some players may struggle with the course’s design, others, like Justin Thomas, are eager to seize the birdie opportunities it presents. This year’s US Open promises an exciting competition with high stakes and the potential for memorable moments in golf history.
