Amit Elor, a 20-year-old wrestling sensation, has maintained an unbeaten streak in senior international matches since she began her career in 2022, showcasing her prowess in women’s wrestling at the Paris Olympics.

Elor dominated her opponents, starting with a decisive 10-2 victory over top seed Buse Tosun Çavuşoğlu of Turkey. She continued to excel in the quarterfinals, defeating Poland’s Wiktoria Chołuj 8-0, and concluded her semifinal bout by swiftly overcoming North Korea’s Pak Sol Gum in under two minutes, winning 10-0 by technical superiority.

The Californian athlete has made history as the youngest American woman to participate in the Olympics.

Elor, the daughter of Israeli immigrants, began wrestling at the age of four after being inspired by her older brother’s practice sessions. To compete in the Olympic Games, she moved from the 72kg weight class to the 68kg class, as the former is not available in the Olympics.

Having already secured at least a silver medal, Elor is set to compete for gold on Tuesday against Kyrgyzstan’s Meerim Zhumanazarova, the bronze medalist from the 2020 Olympics in the women’s 68kg category.
