Agatha All Along is making its debut into the Marvel Cinematic Universe this September, and the first trailer has been released to show the mythical horrors that Kathryn Hahn and her co-stars have been creating.
The two-minute trailer for this new Disney+ spinoff presents a different tone compared to other MCU projects. The initial scenes set a darker atmosphere, focusing on Agatha’s struggle with her lost powers. As she examines dead bodies and forms a connection with a new mysterious character played by Aubrey Plaza, the show promises to introduce more horror elements into the Marvel universe.
While horror has been briefly explored in projects such as Werewolf by Night, Doctor Strange in the MultiVerse of Madness, and What If…?, Agatha All Along appears poised to bring its own brand of demons and possessed entities. The trailer showcases Hahn, Plaza, and the world post-WandaVision.
Agatha All Along has been in development for years and follows the storyline from the 2021 hit MCU show, WandaVision. The series hinted at dark times ahead for the expanding comic book universe, and now we get to see how Agatha is coping after her defeat. The anticipation for Hahn’s return as the magical character has been high, largely due to the popularity of the catchy song associated with the show’s name. With a few name changes and a commitment to delivering genuine MCU horror, Agatha All Along is set to premiere soon.
Agatha All Along is one of the few MCU projects being released this year. This month will feature a crossover of multiverses with characters like Deadpool and Wolverine, with the only MCU film of 2024 set for release on July 26. Marvel also plans to release other Disney+ spinoffs like Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Eyes of Wakanda before the year ends, although specific dates have not been announced.
