Universal Orlando is kicking off its spooky season nine weeks before Halloween with Halloween Horror Nights 34. The annual fright-fest starts this Friday and runs through November 2, offering 48 select nights of terror, featuring 10 haunted houses, four scare zones, live shows and more.
Among the most anticipated experiences are Five Nights at Freddy’s, Fallout, Jason Universe and WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks. In the Fallout house, guests descend into Vault 33 and follow vault-dweller Lucy MacLean as she escapes a bloody massacre and uncovers a dark secret beneath the surface. From there, adventurers surface to dodge Scavengers and Raiders, while mutated cockroaches known as RAD Roaches lurk in the shadows.
Five of the 10 Orlando haunted houses will also travel to Universal Studios Hollywood for its Halloween Horror Nights, which begins September 4. The two nighttime events carry age restrictions, with not recommended-for-under-13 guidelines in place for both parks. Guests at Universal Orlando are allowed to wear costumes or costume masks during the event.
Ticketing details show single-night tickets starting at $85.99 per person, plus tax. Add-ons such as Express passes, R.I.P. tours and other packages are available. Some Universal passholders may qualify for perks, including complimentary event admission for one night and discounted tickets and hotel packages. The events run rain or shine, and Universal notes there are no rain checks or refunds for tickets.
Universal Orlando Resort operates under Universal Destinations & Experiences, a unit of Comcast NBCUniversal. In related news, Universal’s Epic Universe expansion opened in May, a roughly $7 billion project that added about 750 acres and doubled the resort’s size, introducing a host of familiar movie and game characters the company owns or licenses.
What this means for fans: the new lineup blends classic horror, sci-fi and pop culture IPs to deliver a broad range of experiences, with Hollywood cross-pollination expanding the reach of popular houses. The expansion at Epic Universe underscores a continued commitment to growth in Orlando, while HHN 34 aims to offer a densely packed, high-energy experience for thrill-seekers throughout the fall season.
Quick take and context:
– 48 nights of haunted houses, scare zones and live shows from now until Nov. 2.
– IP-heavy lineup including Five Nights at Freddy’s and Fallout, plus cross-park connections to Hollywood.
– New visitors should plan ahead for crowds and weather, and consider passes or hotel packages for value.
– The Epic Universe expansion signals ongoing momentum for the broader resort ecosystem beyond Halloween events.
If you’re planning to attend, setting aside time for back-to-back experiences and checking for any event-specific guidelines or restrictions ahead of your visit can help maximize the experience. The Halloween Horror Nights program continues to be a marquee draw for Universal and a defining seasonal event for Orlando.
