JAKARTA – The Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, attended the annual Hajj meeting at Mina Palace, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday (June 7). This event was organized by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who also serves as the Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, in honor of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The gathering saw the presence of heads of state, prominent Muslim figures, and delegations responsible for Hajj from various countries, including Indonesia. Among the attendees were Mauritania President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Benin Vice President Mariam Chabi Talata Zime Yerima, and former Somalia President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed.
In his speech, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman extended his warm wishes for Eid al-Adha 1446 H to all guests and Muslims around the world, praying for the acceptance of their Hajj pilgrimage. He expressed appreciation to the heads of state, high-ranking officials, and Muslim leaders for their presence at the reception.
Additionally, the Prince called upon Allah to bless the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and all Muslim nations with lasting peace and security, praying for a safe return for all pilgrims to their families.
The meeting also included remarks from the Minister of Awqaf of the Syrian Arab Republic, Dr. Muhammad Abu al-Khair Syukri, who expressed gratitude towards King Salman and the Crown Prince for their ongoing efforts to enhance Hajj services through modern technology and digital systems.
Sheikh Muhammad bin Ahmad Hussein, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and Palestine, emphasized that one of the main purposes of Islam and the significant benefits of Hajj is to maintain the unity of the Muslim community, reiterating the vital role Saudi Arabia plays in uniting Muslims globally.
Governor Khofifah conveyed her heartfelt appreciation to the Saudi government for the invitation to the Hajj and for promoting unity, peace, and humanitarian protection.
This year’s Hajj meeting underscores the international cooperation and camaraderie among Muslim nations, highlighting the unifying aspect of the Hajj pilgrimage, a cornerstone of Islamic faith.
