The Axellerate Aflame Brothers under-21 team is gearing up for the Fiji Bitter Wairiki 7s tournament, which kicks off today in Taveuni. The team traveled from Sigatoka, making the long journey to the Narain Jetty in Suva, where they boarded the MV Lady Daya, a Goundar Shipping vessel that is transporting several teams to the island for the competition.

Team captain Joeli Ratusala voiced gratitude for the safe passage, stating, “Firstly, we would like to thank the Lord for his guidance and protection over us as we journeyed from Sigatoka to Taveuni.” The skipper from Wema, Navosa, highlighted the team’s consistent participation in Fiji Bitter 7s tournaments, noting their decision to compete at Wairiki once again amid a busy schedule of rugby events across the country this week.

The under-21 tournament is expected to be fiercely competitive, featuring 16 teams vying for glory. Ratusala emphasized the team’s focus, saying, “Our aim is to achieve what we set out to do.” As excitement builds around the tournament, fans and supporters are hopeful for an exhilarating display of young talent and sportsmanship on the field.
