ST. LOUIS — U.S. Figure Skating has officially announced the roster of skaters who will represent the United States at the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics. The announcement follows an impressive four days at the 2026 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, with standout performances securing coveted spots on the Olympic team.
Leading the pack is 21-year-old Ilia Malinin, dubbed the “Quad God” for his ability to execute the quadruple Axel. As a gold medal favorite heading into the games in Milano, Malinin has left a mark on the competition by winning every event since December 2023, including two World Championships. His remarkable skills make him a key contender as the U.S. aims for its second consecutive gold in men’s singles after Nathan Chen’s triumph in 2022.
The women’s team has an exciting representation as well, with Amber Glenn, Alysa Liu, and Isabeau Levito clinching their spots. This marks a historic moment, as it’s the best women’s team the U.S. has put forth in nearly 25 years. Liu, returning to the Olympics after a break, has made headlines by winning the 2025 World Championship and three U.S. championships; Glenn has showcased her power and technical skill with three consecutive U.S. championship titles; and Levito’s captivating performance at the U.S. Championships secured her place with overwhelming grace and talent.
Additional figures include Andrew Torgashev and Maxim Naumov in the men’s singles, both competing in their first Olympics. Torgashev has shown remarkable resilience after facing tough challenges and earning a silver at the recent U.S. championships. Naumov, who has endured personal tragedy, is a symbol of perseverance, winning his first senior event this year.
In the Ice Dance discipline, seasoned pair Madison Chock and Evan Bates make their fourth Olympic appearance, seeking a podium finish for the first time. The pair has dominated the ice dance scene and will have the added motivation of competing together as a married couple.
Other athletes to watch are Ellie Kam and Daniel O’Shea in pairs, and the emerging duo of Emily Chan and Spencer Akira Howe, who will make their Olympic debuts. They are joined by the promising partnership of Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik, who both showcased their strength and determination to qualify, underscoring the depth of talent in this year’s Olympics.
As the world anxiously anticipates the 2026 Games, these U.S. figure skaters are poised to showcase their skills and inspire future generations. Their journeys, marked by triumph and resilience, reflect not just individual achievement but the spirit of teamwork and dedication that the Olympics represent. With such talent representing the country, there is hope for a spectacular performance on the ice in February.
