Tyler, the Creator has made a much-anticipated return with his seventh album, Chromakopia, released three years after Call Me If You Get Lost. The new album pays homage to various phases of his career, showcasing a mix of breezy synths in tracks like “Take Your Mask Off,” reminiscent of Flower Boy, as well as the edgy sounds of “Rah Tah Tah” and “Thought I Was Dead” that nod to his earlier works, Wolf and Cherry Bomb. Chromakopia offers a little something for every fan and is filled with nostalgia.
The album delves into Tyler’s personal struggles, including themes of paranoia, his wishes for fatherhood, and the turbulence of adulthood. Featuring 14 tracks, Chromakopia includes collaborations with artists such as Doechii, Lil Wayne, GloRilla, Sexyy Red, and Daniel Caesar, all enhancing the dynamic experience of the album. Despite being established in the industry, Tyler demonstrates his ability to continue evolving as an artist.
This project indicates a new era for Tyler. After a successful listening party in Los Angeles on October 27, he is set to embark on the Chromakopia: World Tour, which begins on February 4 in his hometown. Lil Yachty and Paris Texas will accompany him on the tour. As excitement builds, fans are eager to explore the new album.
