A significant milestone was achieved in Yalobi Village, Yasawa, this week with the successful commissioning of two new groundwater supply projects. These projects, aimed at ensuring reliable access to clean and safe water, will directly benefit 345 individuals, including households, schoolchildren, and teachers at Ratu Naivalu Memorial Primary School.
For many years, the villagers faced challenges with unreliable water sources, which led to difficulties in daily activities and potential health risks. With the inauguration of these boreholes, the community now enjoys a consistent water supply, addressing a fundamental human need.
Minister Vosarogo, present at the commissioning ceremony, emphasized the importance of safeguarding and efficiently managing groundwater resources to ensure sustainability. He encouraged collaboration between the community and their Water Committees to maintain the systems and guarantee their long-term benefits.
