A Caribbean holiday aboard the Harmony of the Seas took an unexpected turn this week when two internet personalities were removed from the Royal Caribbean ship following an altercation on deck.
The incident, which garnered significant attention after being captured on video and circulated online, occurred on November 4 as the ship journeyed from Galveston, Texas, to Roatán, Honduras, during a seven-night Western Caribbean cruise.
The confrontation involved two livestreamers, David Ryan, known as Chicken Andy, and Dave Willis, known as BlackAssDave. Both were part of a themed “streamer cruise” hosted by fellow content creator Ice Poseidon. Footage from the ship’s outdoor smoking area captured the duo arguing before their verbal dispute escalated into a brief physical confrontation, prompting other passengers to intervene.
Observers on social media noted that the two men had previously been warned by ship security about disturbances earlier in the voyage. One passenger remarked that they had received “two strikes in two days,” suggesting that they had previously attracted attention for unruly behavior.
In response to the fight, ship security detained both Ryan and Willis, with Ryan reportedly being held in a small area often referred to by passengers as the “brig.” They were disembarked in Roatán on Wednesday and were left to arrange their own transport back home.
The disagreement reportedly stemmed from a dispute about credit for helping a fellow streamer gain popularity. Initially, it was merely a verbal spat, but things escalated when one participant slapped the camera out of the other’s hand. A separate incident earlier in the cruise also hinted at rising tensions, where Willis was seen arguing with other guests after blocking their view while filming.
Interestingly, a video released later showed Ryan and Willis ashore in Honduras, where they appeared to have reconciled and made up. They discussed how one of their girlfriends remained onboard as the cruise departed.
Royal Caribbean has yet to comment officially on the incident. The Harmony of the Seas, one of the world’s largest cruise ships, accommodates over 6,000 guests and boasts extensive amenities, including water slides, a zip line, and a full theatre. The cruise line’s code of conduct explicitly prohibits violent or disruptive behavior, with clear repercussions for offenders.
As social media users noted after the incident, “The cruise line won – both got kicked off with no refund.” This event serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining decorum and the potential consequences of disruptive actions while on a family-oriented cruise.
