Authorities discovered the bodies of two individuals inside a home in Brentwood, owned by the acclaimed director and actor Rob Reiner, on Sunday afternoon. According to multiple law enforcement sources, the deceased, a man and a woman, were approximately 78 and 68 years old.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the home on Chadbourne Avenue around 3:30 p.m. and initiated a protocol for an “ambulance death investigation,” a term used by the LAPD when firefighters find a body. Shortly thereafter, LAPD officers arrived on the scene, confirming the discovery of two deceased individuals within the residence.

The LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division is currently leading the investigation, although officials have indicated that they cannot share additional details at this time. A significant police presence remained at the property while investigators worked to gather further information.

Neighbors reported that Reiner and his wife, Michele, reside in the home, as indicated by property records. Rob Reiner, known for his Oscar-nominated films such as “This Is Spinal Tap,” “A Few Good Men,” and “When Harry Met Sally,” has built a celebrated career in the film industry. He and Michele have been married since 1989 and have three children together: Jake, Nick, and Romy.

As this tragic story unfolds, further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
