K-pop sensation TWICE electrified Oakland Arena on Saturday night, marking the first of two sold-out concerts as part of their “This is For World Tour.” The renowned girl group, featuring members Jihyo, Dahyun, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Sana, Tzuyu, Momo, Mina, and Chaeyoung, delivered an impressive two-hour performance that left fans buzzing with excitement.

The atmosphere was charged as enthusiastic fans filled the arena, illuminating the venue with a sea of colored light sticks. The group’s in-the-round production featured a large central stage, flanked by catwalks and dotted with video screens that dynamically changed throughout the evening. It was TWICE’s return to the Bay Area since their previous shows at the same venue in 2023.

The concert kicked off with a thrilling hype video, introducing each member to an eager crowd. TWICE exploded onto the stage with the powerful track “THIS IS FOR,” setting the tone for a night full of dynamic performances. The show seamlessly blended choreography, visual effects like smoke and confetti, and fan-favorite songs. Notably, “Strategy,” connected to the popular “KPop Demon Hunters,” activated a wave of excitement in the audience.

As the performance progressed, the group utilized every inch of the expansive stage, especially during standout song “I Can’t Stop Me.” Jihyo energetically engaged with fans, asking, “What’s my name!?” while Dahyun, who performed seated due to an ankle injury, kept the energy high with her upper body movements and constant waves to the audience. Her determination to entertain was met with affection from the crowd, who reciprocated with chants of “This is for Once!”

The show also featured a band in the front pit, enhancing the live music experience. TWICE’s versatility shone through as they incorporated various musical styles, from pop anthems to arena rock, exemplified in songs like “I GOT YOU” and “Gone.”

Midway through, each member showcased solo performances, highlighting their individuality with a diverse array of sounds—from Chaeyoung’s powerful “SHOOT (Firecracker)” to Jeongyeon’s country-inspired “FIX A DRINK.” Dahyun’s “CHESS” brought excitement back to the setlist, while Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung teamed up for another fan-favorite, “TAKEDOWN.”

As the show progressed, the energy remained high with classic hits like “What is Love?” and “Dance the Night Away.” This segment allowed the members to express more of their personalities as they connected with the audience.

Following an entertaining fan dance battle video, TWICE returned for an encore, finishing strong with “SCIENTIST” and letting the crowd determine the last song of the night. Fans cheered loudly for “FEEL SPECIAL,” capping off a memorable evening filled with joy and energy.

As TWICE continues their world tour, their Oakland shows are a testament to the group’s ability to captivate and inspire, uniting fans through the universal language of music.
