Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs is set to make his return to the field after a lengthy absence, having last played in Week 6 during a loss to the Panthers. Following a nine-week hiatus, Diggs expressed his eagerness to return, stating, “I’m ready” after participating in limited practices throughout the week.
Diggs faced challenges after suffering a concussion from an accident at home shortly after the October 12 game, which led to his placement on injured reserve. Additionally, he has been dealing with lingering issues related to a knee injury sustained earlier in the season.
Reflecting on his journey back to the field, Diggs shared, “It’s definitely been hard because of course you want to get back out there.” He emphasized the importance of resilience, saying he must “roll with the punches and keep pushing forward.”
As Diggs prepares for his return, questions loom regarding his future with the Cowboys, particularly for the 2026 season. His contract currently lacks guaranteed money, and he is set to earn a salary of $14.5 million with a cap hit of $18.441 million next year. Despite these uncertainties, Diggs remains confident in his abilities, asserting, “I know what I’m capable of… It’s just all about showing it, putting it out there and making plays that I’ve always made.”
Diggs expressed his desire to continue his career in Dallas, saying, “I would love to be here. I love everything in coming to Dallas, the fans, the relationships I’ve built here.” However, he acknowledged the unpredictable nature of the NFL, stating, “Whatever happens, happens. I’m prepared for it.”
With the stakes high, Diggs has four crucial games to demonstrate his value to the Cowboys, starting with Sunday night’s matchup against the Vikings. As he steps back onto the field, fans and teammates alike will be eager to witness his impact and contributions as the season progresses.
