Travis Scott Arrested in Paris: What Happened at the George V Hotel?

Travis Scott, the rapper also known as Jacques Bermon Webster II, has been taken into custody after an altercation at the luxurious George V hotel in central Paris, according to French authorities. The incident, which occurred on August 9, 2024, involved a security guard who attempted to separate Scott from his bodyguard.

The Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed the arrest, stating that the police were called to the scene to address claims of assault against the security guard. The case has now been handed over to the 1st district of the judicial police for further investigation.

In a statement, a representative for Scott claimed that the rapper had been experiencing ongoing harassment from paparazzi and that the altercation arose when he got into a dispute with his own security team. They expressed hopes of resolving the situation quickly and indicated that they are in contact with local authorities.

As of Friday afternoon, the 33-year-old rapper remained in custody, with police planning to conduct interviews that may lead to his release or formal charges.

Before the incident, Scott was seen attending the men’s Olympic basketball semifinal, where the U.S. team achieved a dramatic comeback victory.

The George V hotel, located near the Champs-Élysées and offering views of the Eiffel Tower, is known for its multiple Michelin-starred dining options. This is not the first time Scott has faced legal issues; he was previously arrested in June for disorderly intoxication in Miami Beach, which his attorney characterized as a misunderstanding.

As of now, Scott has not publicly commented on the recent arrest, and efforts to reach his representative for further information have not been successful.
