Travis Kelce’s Exciting Leap into Entertainment: What to Expect!

As the football season unfolds, Chiefs star Travis Kelce is making a return to television, coinciding with the public appearance of his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. This month, Kelce takes on a role in Ryan Murphy’s FX drama series “Grotesquerie,” which airs Wednesdays at 10 PM EDT/PDT.

The limited 10-episode series follows Detective Lois Tryon, portrayed by Niecy Nash-Betts, as she investigates a string of crimes that leave her tormented. Unable to find leads, she teams up with Sister Megan, a nun and reporter played by Micaela Diamond.

During an episode of their podcast “New Heights” in May, Kelce shared with his brother Jason that filming has been “so much fun,” although he admitted to feeling somewhat like an “amateur.” At 34 years old, Kelce expressed pride in not being fired yet, stating, “So we’re doing good,” and mentioned he is taking it “scene by scene” while trying to memorize his lines.

Kelce’s journey in entertainment includes his 2016 dating show “Catching Kelce,” where he dated 50 women, one from each state. He recounted that experience as “extremely awkward” and said he initially declined to do the show but ultimately accepted due to the financial incentive. He humorously noted how he spent his earnings without much thought for the future.

In addition to reality TV, Kelce appeared in Showtime’s comedy “Moonbase 8” in 2020, playing a fictionalized, hot-headed version of himself. He also hosted “Saturday Night Live” in March 2023, shortly after winning his second Super Bowl, where he emotionally reflected on the significance of the show in his life.

Kelce is also set to host a reimagined version of “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” on Amazon Prime Video, debuting on October 16. The game show features contestants answering questions from a grade-school curriculum for a $100,000 prize, with the assistance of celebrities.

Moreover, Adam Sandler has confirmed that Kelce will appear in the upcoming sequel to the classic movie “Happy Gilmore.” Kelce will join Sandler and a host of golf stars in a comedic storyline revolving around Sandler’s character, who is facing personal challenges.

With these diverse projects, Kelce continues to expand his presence in the entertainment world while balancing his football career.
