The Alaska Jewish Campus is gearing up to celebrate the Festival of Lights with an exciting “extreme trampoline show” on Sunday, marking a highlight of the annual “Cirque Du Chanukah” event. This festive gathering, which promises to be the largest Jewish celebration in Alaska, will take place at the Egan Center in Anchorage and is set to attract over a thousand attendees.
In addition to the trampoline show, participants can expect a variety of activities including arts and crafts, inflatables, music, and a unique ice menorah lighting. Rabbi Yosef Greenberg of the Lubavitch Jewish Center highlighted the significance of the event, emphasizing the themes of religious freedom and respect for diversity that Hanukkah represents, as well as the overarching message of light triumphing over darkness.
The event will open its doors at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2024, running from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are available at $20 for adults and $13 for children at the door, with an option to purchase in advance for $17 and $10, respectively.
This gathering is not just a celebration; it’s a demonstration of community spirit and inclusivity, inviting people from all backgrounds to partake in the joy and messages Hanukkah embodies.
In light of recent events, community gatherings like “Cirque Du Chanukah” are a vital part of maintaining cultural traditions and fostering connections among diverse groups, showcasing that, together, communities can shine brighter than ever.
