Tragic Wrong-Way Crash Claims Young Life in Grimes County

An 18-year-old woman, identified as Kate Connally, tragically lost her life in a wrong-way collision in northeast Grimes County, Texas, on Saturday afternoon. The accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m., near County Road 115 along TX-90, just south of Bedias — approximately 95 miles northwest of Houston.

According to preliminary reports, Connally was driving a southbound 2023 Mazda CX-5 when she attempted to overtake other vehicles by entering the northbound lanes. This led to a head-on collision with a northbound 2020 Jeep Wrangler. Emergency responders transported two individuals from the Jeep, including the driver, to a nearby hospital in College Station with serious injuries. Unfortunately, Connally succumbed to her injuries at the accident scene.

Motorists in the area faced significant delays while emergency crews dealt with the aftermath and worked to clear the roadway. A thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is currently underway.
