Rapper and social media influencer Lucas Coly has passed away at the age of 27.
Coly’s manager announced the tragic news in an Instagram post on Thursday, October 3, expressing heartfelt condolences, stating, “Rest in peace @iamlucascoly I love you bro. My heart is ripped in half. Wait for me up there.” In a follow-up message, the manager conveyed his sorrow, saying he felt a significant loss, sharing, “There’s a hole in my heart right now.”
He reflected on their relationship, noting that managing Coly was a vital part of his life. “We used to talk about our struggles but always smiled for the fans. So many people hurt us but we had each other. I don’t know what to do now,” he wrote. The emotional tribute continued with his plea for Coly to come back, stating, “Honestly, Lucas it hasn’t set in yet because I refuse to believe you are gone.”
Coly had shared a positive message earlier on his Instagram Story, declaring, “I love y’all” with an orange heart emoji. The cause of his death has not been officially revealed.
The manager also requested prayers for Coly’s girlfriend, Amber, highlighting the deep bond he shared with the rapper. He emphasized the severity of the loss, stating, “Lucas was more of a brother to me than my client.” He indicated that Amber would confirm details regarding Coly’s passing when she feels ready, and promised to share funeral arrangements once they are finalized.
Born in France and moving to the United States at age eight, Coly first gained recognition on Vine about a decade ago. He is particularly known for his song “I Just Wanna.” Fluent in French, he often infused the language into his work, remarking in a 2017 interview, “Most of the time people don’t know I speak French ’cause I don’t just tell people.”
