Holden Trent, the Philadelphia Union goalkeeper, passed away on Saturday at the age of 25, as confirmed by the Major League Soccer club.

The league offered their condolences to his fiancée, family, friends, teammates, and the broader Philadelphia Union community, affirming that they are working with the club to support players and family members during this difficult time.
Hailing from Greensboro, North Carolina, Trent was drafted 28th overall by the Union in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft after playing at High Point University. Although he had not yet made his first-team debut, he participated in six matches for the Union’s second team in MLS Next Pro.
