Tragic Loss: Lucas Coly’s Untimely Passing at 27 Shakes Fans

French-American rapper Lucas Coly has passed away at the age of 27. His manager confirmed the sad news on October 3rd. Coly gained popularity with his viral single “I Just Wanna,” released in 2016.

In an emotional Instagram story, his agency, I Discover Stars, expressed their grief, stating, “I’m going to be in mourning… My brother is gone. Don’t wait until someone dies to give them their flowers.” A deleted statement from Coly’s manager revealed how deep the loss is, saying, “there is a hole in my heart right now.” He added, “Being your manager was one of the reasons I stayed here. Honestly, Lucas, it hasn’t set in yet because I refuse to believe you are gone.”

The cause of death has not yet been disclosed. Fans have taken to social media to express their sorrow over the rapper’s untimely death, with one comment reading, “Absolute Tragedy. Such a young soul at 27… whole life ahead of him… gone… but never forgotten.”

Another fan shared their emotional connection to his music, stating, “I’m crying all the way from London. The way his music connected with my soul is unexplainable.” His last Instagram story reportedly featured the message “I love y’all,” raising concerns among fans. His final main feed post displayed him in a red tracksuit.

In honor of Coly, his agency released a tribute track titled “Just Pray.” One fan commented, “May God give you the peace you deserve. Rest easy my brother. Love.”

Born in France, Coly moved to the United States at the age of eight and started sharing his music on Vine. In a 2017 interview, he expressed his desire to create more music that reflects his French heritage, saying that he looked forward to expanding his fanbase. He also mentioned his struggles in school and his singular focus on music, stating, “I just want to rap. If it’s not music or not making music, I want to do nothing.”
