Julian McMahon, acclaimed for his performances in FX’s Nip/Tuck and CBS’ FBI: Most Wanted, has passed away at the age of 56 after a private struggle with cancer. His wife, Kelly McMahon, shared the sad news in a heartfelt statement, revealing that Julian died peacefully after a determined battle with the disease.

Kelly expressed the couple’s deep love for life, family, friends, work, and fans, stating that Julian’s greatest wish was to spread joy to as many people as possible. She requested privacy for their family to grieve and encouraged those who cherished Julian to continue seeking joy in their lives.

McMahon’s career began in Australia in 1989 with the soap opera The Power, the Passion, before he transitioned to roles in Home and Away and later made his American debut in NBC’s Another World in 1993. His breakthrough role came in 2003 with Nip/Tuck, where he played the charismatic Dr. Christian Troy, earning a Golden Globe nomination during the show’s six-season run.

A decade later, McMahon took on the role of Jess LaCroix in CBS’ FBI: Most Wanted, leading the series for three seasons until his departure in March 2022. More recently, he appeared as Stephen Roos in Netflix’s political drama, The Residence, a poignant nod to his father’s real-life role as the Prime Minister of Australia from 1971 to 1972.

In addition to his television success, McMahon had notable film credits including roles in Marvel’s Runaways and the Fantastic Four franchise. His legacy as a versatile actor and beloved figure in entertainment will be remembered by many.

This news is a reminder of the fragility of life and the impact one individual can have on others. As his wife’s statement illustrates, we can continue to honor his memory by cherishing moments of joy and connection in our own lives.
