Tragic Loss: Extreme Makeover Designer Eduardo Xol Dies at 58

Eduardo Xol, known for his role as a designer on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, has passed away at the age of 58. His death occurred on Friday at the Desert Regional Medical Center, following injuries from an alleged stabbing incident on September 10 in Palm Springs, as reported by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The specific cause of death has not been disclosed, and the Sheriff’s Department has directed all inquiries to the Palm Springs Police Department, which is managing the investigation. The police were the first responders to the stabbing incident reported 10 days prior. The time of the incident was recorded at 5:41 a.m. by the Sheriff’s Department. Following the attack, a 34-year-old suspect named Richard Joseph Gonzales was charged with attempted murder.

In a statement, Xol’s family expressed their profound sorrow over his untimely passing, highlighting his kindness and the impact he had on many lives. They requested privacy during this difficult time and encouraged donations in his memory to the Lupus Foundation of America, recognizing Xol’s commitment to helping others throughout his life.

Before his television career, Xol studied theater at UCLA and was known as a talented keyboardist and percussionist. He had also produced musical theater and comedy shows that toured across the United States. Born in Los Angeles to Mexican-American parents, Xol had prior experience as an actor in television music and video productions in Latin America.
