Tragic Loss: Alabama High School Football Star Passes Away After Injury

A high school football player in Alabama tragically passed away Saturday, just a day after sustaining a serious injury during a game.

Caden Tellier, a 16-year-old quarterback from Morgan Academy, was injured in the third quarter of a matchup against Southern Academy in Selma, as confirmed by headmaster Bryan Oliver. Tellier suffered a brain injury and was transported to the University of Alabama at Birmingham hospital that night.

Tellier’s family shared the heartbreaking news of his death on social media, expressing their gratitude for the community’s prayers. In their statement, they said, “Our boy, Caden Tellier has met Jesus face to face. We appreciate all of your prayers, and we covet them for the hard days ahead. Everyone who knows Caden has known kindness, generosity, and love, and true to his nature, he is giving of himself one more time. Lives have been touched by the way he lived and now lives will be saved through his passing.”

Oliver also revealed that Tellier was an organ donor, highlighting the profound impact of his life and legacy. “There are no words to describe how we feel as a school community and family,” he wrote on the school’s Facebook page. “Caden will never be forgotten for who he was and what he means to Morgan Academy.”

In response to this tragedy, the school has decided to suspend all sports activities for the week, including the upcoming football game scheduled for Friday against Wilcox Academy.
