California officials have confirmed the identities of the eight victims who tragically lost their lives when their powerboat capsized on Lake Tahoe. The accident occurred on June 21 as the 27-foot vessel, carrying ten passengers, overturned near D.L. Bliss State Park amid a sudden storm and wave heights of up to 8 feet. Fortunately, two passengers were rescued and taken to local hospitals for treatment; however, search and recovery efforts were launched for the remaining eight, according to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.
The victims, who ranged in age from 37 to 73, included five individuals from California and three from New York. Among them was Josh Pickles, a 37-year-old executive at DoorDash, who was remembered fondly by colleagues. Ravi Inukonda, DoorDash’s CFO, expressed deep sorrow over Pickles’ death, highlighting his passion for his team and the inspiration he provided throughout his nearly seven years with the company. The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office also extended their heartfelt condolences to the families affected by this tragic incident.

– Stephen Lindsay, 63, from Springwater, New York
The distressing capsizing incident occurred during a storm, which produced perilous conditions on the lake. Six bodies were recovered the same day, with the remaining two found on the following days.
