Tatyana Remley, a California woman who previously pleaded guilty to orchestrating a murder-for-hire scheme against her estranged husband, has tragically died by suicide. Remley, 44, was discovered outside the Princess Pub & Grille in San Diego’s Little Italy on December 18. Authorities have confirmed that her death appears to be a suicide, resulting from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, as later determined by the San Diego County Medical Examiner.
Her estranged husband, Mark Remley, revealed that he had spoken to Tatyana just hours before her death. He recounted a distressing phone call during which she complained about a man she was with at the bar. “She FaceTimed me while in the bathroom stall and told me, ‘I’m with this guy and he’s being a jerk,’” Mark shared. When he offered to call for help, she reassured him that she was fine before ending the call.
Law enforcement responded to the scene and found a firearm. No other individuals were harmed, but when Mark failed to hear from Tatyana the following day, he reported her missing, only to receive the devastating news of her death from authorities.
Mark expressed his heartbreak, mentioning that he had tried multiple times to support Tatyana during her struggles throughout their marriage. “I did not see this coming. I loved her, and yes, our marriage ended very badly,” he noted. The couple had faced significant challenges, including Tatyana’s prior actions to hire someone to kill him, which led Mark to relocate to the other side of the country for safety. He never anticipated that her life would end this way.
In 2023, Tatyana gained notoriety following her allegations of soliciting a hitman, leading to a staged sting operation where she inadvertently revealed her intentions to an undercover detective. After pleading guilty to charges of solicitation of murder and firearms offenses, she was released early this year. However, she faced legal troubles once more when arrested on arson charges and was scheduled to appear in court again in 2026.
Despite their turbulent past, Mark indicated that he and Tatyana had maintained some level of communication during their separation and were close to finalizing their divorce. In light of this tragic event, Mark is now in discussions with the fathers of Tatyana’s children regarding the arrangements for her remains. This unfortunate incident serves as a somber reminder of the complexities and often hidden struggles that can accompany turbulent relationships.
