A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday night at The Exchange rooftop restaurant atop the Lancaster Marriott Hotel in downtown Lancaster, where a man lost his life after jumping from the rooftop. Emergency dispatchers received notifications of the event at 8:49 PM, but unfortunately, the individual had already succumbed to his injuries by the time first responders arrived.
Former LNP | LancasterOnline reporter Jeff Hawkes was dining at the restaurant and witnessed the harrowing event. He described how the man climbed a glass partition along the outdoor seating area before crouching on the ledge and then jumping. “Everyone was just shocked when it happened,” he stated, emphasizing the suddenness of the incident. Following the event, the restaurant staff appeared visibly shaken, and patrons were cleared from the area.
