A well-known Indian actor has been taken into custody following a tragic incident at a film screening that resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to others. The event occurred in Hyderabad, where large crowds gathered to see Allu Arjun at the premiere of his film “Pushpa 2: The Rule.”
Authorities have charged the 42-year-old actor with multiple offenses, including the alleged voluntary causing of harm through dangerous means. Alongside him, seven other individuals were also arrested in connection with the chaos that ensued during the screening.
Footage shared by local media captured the moment Allu Arjun, holding a coffee mug, interacted with police officers who came to arrest him at his home.
The unfortunate incident happened on December 4, when the victim, a woman in her thirties, attended the film with her son, who was also seriously hurt in the crush. In response, her family has lodged a complaint against the actor, his security personnel, and the management of the cinema.
Expressing his sorrow, Arjun stated he was “deeply heartbroken” just days after the event. He expressed his desire to support the victim’s family through their grieving process, emphasizing his commitment to assist them during such a difficult time.
