The Fiji Police Force has received a significant boost in its preparations for the upcoming 2025 Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl Games, thanks to a generous sponsorship of $15,000 from TotalEnergies, a multinational petroleum company. Acting Commissioner of Police Aporosa Lutunauga accepted this support during a handover ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Suva.
Lutunauga expressed gratitude to TotalEnergies for its continued commitment over the years, emphasizing that such sponsorship plays a vital role in the successful organization of major national events. The funding will help facilitate the Police Force’s logistical planning for the Sukuna Bowl, which is particularly crucial with three sporting events set to take place in Labasa.
Scheduled from November 17th to 21st, the 2025 Sukuna Bowl Games promise an exciting lineup of competitions, including soccer, women’s rugby, and the highly anticipated men’s rugby match, with games being held in both Suva and Labasa. This event not only showcases athletic talents but also fosters community spirit and social cohesion.
Similar initiatives highlighted the importance of sponsorship in sporting events within Fiji’s context. Last year’s Sukuna Bowl, for instance, featured a commitment to family values and unity, reinforcing the positive social impact of such events. The partnerships signify a hopeful future for sporting collaborations that promote community engagement and tackle pressing social issues, demonstrating that corporate involvement can have lasting benefits beyond mere financial aid.
As preparations continue, the Fiji Police Force is optimistic about a successful tournament that will unite communities through sports. This partnership reflects an ongoing commitment to excellence in both athletic endeavors and community service, setting the stage for a memorable Sukuna Bowl Games.
