Nashville musician Todd Snider’s health has taken a concerning turn following an alleged assault earlier this month. On November 14, friends and family posted an update on Snider’s Instagram, revealing that he had been hospitalized in Hendersonville, Tennessee, after experiencing difficulty breathing. Doctors determined he is suffering from an undiagnosed case of walking pneumonia, which has complicated his recovery.

“His care team and those closest to him are by his side and doing everything they can,” the post stated. Fans are being urged to keep Snider in their thoughts, as his loved ones expressed their gratitude for the support he’s received over the years.

The troubling news comes after Snider’s performance scheduled for November 1 at The Commonwealth Room in Salt Lake City was canceled due to an alleged assault outside his hotel. His representatives announced the cancellation on November 3, stating that Snider had sustained severe injuries as a result of the attack. While he initially received treatment and his team expected a full recovery, the seriousness of his health complications has since come to light.

South Salt Lake Police confirmed they received a report of the assault, although they clarified that the incident did not occur at the venue. Police have appealed for public assistance in gathering additional details about the assault, as the circumstances surrounding it remain unclear.

In a related incident, it was reported that Snider was arrested on November 2 following the alleged assault, facing charges of disorderly conduct, threats of violence, and suspicion of criminal trespassing. Authorities indicated that Snider complained of head pain and had been treated at a hospital prior to the arrest. Despite causing a disturbance at the facility, he was released shortly after being booked on his own recognizance.

Todd Snider, 59, is known for his unique blend of blues, folk, country, rock, and funk. His most recent album, “High, Lonesome and Then Some,” was released on October 17, showcasing his talent as a storyteller through music. In light of these challenges, fans and supporters are hopeful for Snider’s recovery and look forward to his return to the stage.
