Are you searching for the latest Wordle answer? Look no further for today’s hints, along with daily solutions and clues for The New York Times Mini Crossword, Connections, and Strands puzzles.
While many online word games are available today, I still enjoy playing the New York Times Wordle each day. It’s become both a familiar pastime and an excellent warm-up for games like Connections and Strands.
Additionally, we’ve compiled a ranking of all letters in the alphabet based on their popularity, which can help you decide on your best starting words.
Daily Wordle Tips
I’ve shared numerous insights about Wordle, from its milestone of reaching 1,000 words to recommendations for top starter words, effective strategies, and updates on word changes. If you’re reconsidering whether you want the exact answer, you might find helpful tips from my previous articles.
Still searching for a starter word? One approach I’ve heard is to pick a five-letter object you’ve observed as your starter word, such as COUCH or CHAIR. I prefer using starter words that feature the most popular letters in English. Personally, I like to start with TRAIN, although a friend of mine prefers TRAIL. I’ve come across the financial term ROATE being used, but I prefer words I am familiar with.
Understanding Wordle
If you’ve read this far, you probably know the game’s premise. You have six attempts to guess a five-letter word, with feedback provided about which letters are included in the answer and whether they are positioned correctly. The New York Times purchased the game from creator Josh Wardle for a significant sum in 2022. Wardle originally developed the game for his partner, who helped narrow down a list of 12,000 five-letter words in English to a database of 2,500 potential answers, which was convenient given that his name relates to “word.”
According to a Times representative, the very first Wordle was released on June 19, 2021, with the game celebrating its 1,000th word on March 15. Spoiler alert: that 1,000th word was ERUPT. It’s a fitting term, as “Dad will erupt if the Wordle is so tough he loses his streak.”
