Titans Trade Dre’Mont Jones to Ravens, Fueling a Rebuild

The Tennessee Titans have traded outside linebacker Dre’Mont Jones to the Baltimore Ravens ahead of the 2025 NFL trade deadline, according to reliable sources. This move marks a continuation of the roster changes initiated by general manager Mike Borgonzi and president of football operations Chad Brinker.

In exchange for Jones, the Titans will receive a conditional fifth-round draft pick, which has the potential to become a fourth-round pick depending on certain performance metrics, as reported by The Tennessean.

Jones, 28, joined the Titans this year after signing as a free agent following his tenure with the Denver Broncos, where he was originally a third-round pick. During his time with the Titans, he has accumulated 35 career sacks, with a notable surge in performance recently — he recorded 4.5 sacks in the last four games. Despite a rocky start to the 2025 season, where he failed to secure a quarterback hit in the first five games, Jones has turned things around, becoming a significant contributor.

The departure of Jones leaves the Titans with a lineup of edge defenders that includes Arden Key, Jihad Ward, Jaylen Harrell, and Ali Gaye. Rookie Oluwafemi Oladejo is currently on injured reserve due to a leg injury, further challenging the team’s depth at that position.

This is not the first time the Titans have made trades this season. Earlier, they dealt cornerbacks in separate transactions—first, shipping Jarvis Brownlee Jr. to the New York Jets, and later trading Roger McCreary to the Los Angeles Rams. The Titans have already shifted gears in their strategy as they look to rebuild, showing a clear focus on developing a younger roster, particularly around key players like quarterback Cam Ward and rookies Elic Ayomanor, Chimere Dike, and Gunnar Helm.

Currently sitting at a disappointing 1-8 record with eight games remaining, the Titans are clearly positioned as sellers in the trade market. The NFL trade deadline is set for November 4, with the Titans scheduled to return to the field on November 16 against the Houston Texans following their bye week.

This trade could be a pivotal step for the Titans as they look to reshape their roster and build for the future, reflecting a commitment to evolving their team dynamics in the wake of a challenging season.
