The Tennessee Titans have initiated conversations to fill their head coach vacancy, targeting several notable candidates. According to NFL Network, the Titans have requested an interview with Lou Anarumo, the current defensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts. Alongside Anarumo, Tennessee is also looking to speak with Vance Joseph, the defensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos; Matt Nagy, the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs; and Steve Spagnuolo, also from the Chiefs as their defensive coordinator.

Anarumo, age 59, joined the Colts in 2025 after a successful tenure as the defensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals for six years. This season, the Colts’ defense has faced its challenges, allowing an average of 24.2 points per game, ranking them 21st in the league. They also recorded 349.8 total yards per game, placing them 23rd overall. The Colts’ defensive struggles can be attributed to injuries to key players, including Charvarius Ward and Sauce Gardner in the secondary, as well as DeForest Buckner on the defensive line.

Previously, Anarumo interviewed for head coaching roles with the New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals in 2023 but did not secure a position. The Titans are currently in a rebuilding phase after firing second-year coach Brian Callahan following a disappointing start to the season. Under the interim leadership of Mike McCoy, the Titans finished the year with a 3-14 record and are set to pick fourth in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.

As teams evaluate coaches for the upcoming season, the Titans’ proactive approach to seek out experienced candidates reflects their commitment to turning the franchise around.
