In an unfortunate turn of events, the Titans have ruled out wide receivers Calvin Ridley (ankle) and Chimere Dike (concussion) for their upcoming matchup. Ridley, who has already missed the last three games due to a hamstring injury, was unable to make an impact after injuring his ankle on a 13-yard reception during the team’s first play against the Texans. The severity of his condition required him to be transported by cart to the X-ray room.
Despite the setback, the Titans have managed to make some strides offensively, amassing just 136 total yards but converting critical field-goal opportunities. Kicker Joey Slye successfully connected on attempts from 56 and 47 yards, keeping the Titans within striking distance.
On the other side of the field, the Texans found their rhythm after an early setback when they reached the Titans’ 1-yard line but failed to convert. However, they eventually took the lead with a touchdown as Nico Collins caught a 3-yard pass from quarterback Davis Mills, who is stepping in for C.J. Stroud. Mills completed 18 of 26 passes for 188 yards and one touchdown, while Collins recorded six catches totaling 55 yards.
At present, the Texans are holding a narrow lead at 7-6, showcasing the competitive nature of the game as both teams strive for victory. The Titans will need to regroup and find a way to overcome the absence of key players if they hope to turn the tide in the remaining game.
