The Tennessee Titans have announced that Robert Saleh’s introductory press conference has been rescheduled from Wednesday to Thursday at 2 PM Central. This delay is attributed to some logistical arrangements that needed to be addressed on Saleh’s end. By the time the press conference takes place, fans and analysts alike hope to learn who will take on the role of offensive coordinator for the team.

While the Titans are moving forward in their search for an offensive coordinator, they are also in the process of identifying a defensive coordinator. Saleh is expected to handle the defensive play-calling himself, which makes this hire less critical than the OC position. The team is reportedly considering Brian Daboll for the OC role, but recent interviews have been conducted with several candidates, including former Washington Commanders coach Kliff Kingsbury, Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich, and quarterback coach Thad Lewis from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Adding to the coaching staff, Aaron Whitecotton has been appointed as the run game coordinator and defensive line coach. Whitecotton is already garnering respect for his coaching ability, with Quinnen Williams, an All-Pro player, attributing much of his development to Whitecotton’s guidance. Williams stated, “Before I had Whitecotton, I was ascending to be a good DT. When he came into my life, I became an All-Pro — a Pro Bowler.”

The Titans have also interviewed several candidates for the defensive coordinator position. These include Al Harris, the Chicago Bears defensive backs coach; Dino Vasso, the Houston Texans defensive backs coach; and Mike Rutenberg, who serves as the Atlanta Falcons defensive passing game coordinator. Notably, Harris and Vasso have connections to Titans General Manager Mike Borgonzi, while Rutenberg has previously worked with Saleh at different stops in their careers.

As the coaching carousel continues, it is noteworthy that there are still four NFL head coaching positions that remain vacant, including those with the Buffalo Bills, Las Vegas Raiders, Arizona Cardinals, and Cleveland Browns. Daboll is a candidate for both Buffalo and Las Vegas, while the Cardinals appear to be focusing on Mike LaFleur. The situation in Cleveland has been tumultuous, but it seems the search is narrowing down to Jim Schwartz and Nathan Steelhaase.

Overall, the Titans’ new coaching hires indicate a proactive approach to building a competitive team, and the developments surrounding Saleh’s press conference and coordinator searches will be closely monitored by fans and analysts eager for updates.
