This initiative, spearheaded by Dan Dobrowolski, the 66-year-old founder of the national tiny home company Escape, caters to over 60 residents spread across four distinct villages: The Village, The Oaks, Palm Court, and The Grove. The homes, measuring as narrow as 8.5 feet, provide a compact yet fully functional living space.

Despite their small size, the 45 tiny homes come equipped with up to two bedrooms, full kitchens, and bathrooms, reflecting a thoughtful approach to maximizing space. Prices are relatively accessible, starting at $156,199 for purchase or $1,295 per month for rental. This model stands apart from traditional caravan parks or RV sites, as the Escape Tampa Bay development features permanent infrastructure designed for long-term residency.

Dobrowolski’s vision emerged as a response to the growing housing affordability crisis, with the homes constructed as early as 2020. He emphasized the importance of community, stating, “Even though it’s a tiny house, you still have a large area where you can go outside and walk just like you’re in a normal neighbourhood.” The design intentionally incorporates a spacious park area within the development, promoting a green, quiet environment for its residents.
