inXile Entertainment made a notable appearance at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, revealing an extensive look at their upcoming role-playing game, Clockwork Revolution. Set in a vibrant steampunk city, the game offers players the opportunity to create unique characters with diverse appearances, stats, and abilities, influencing their gameplay experience.
Clockwork Revolution is designed as a first-person RPG, allowing players to engage in combat using explosives and firearms while navigating through the fabric of time. A key gameplay mechanic enables players to rewind the clock, witnessing the resurrection of characters and altering the construction of buildings to enhance exploration.
This project was initially introduced during the 2023 Xbox showcase, where inXile discussed the innovative concept of time manipulation to highlight the immediate impacts of player choices.
Clockwork Revolution is the first title from inXile Entertainment to be developed under the Xbox Game Studios banner, following the studio’s acquisition by Microsoft in 2018. While no specific release date or window has been announced yet, the game is expected to launch “in due time.”
Once available, Clockwork Revolution will be playable on Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC (including Steam), and as a first-party Xbox game, it will be accessible on launch day for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers.
