Timberwolves Ignite Win Streak as Edwards Drops 35 Ahead of Kings Showdown

The Minnesota Timberwolves continue their strong performance, improving their record to 7-4 after securing a 120-113 victory against the Utah Jazz on Monday night. This win came on the heels of a dominant 144-117 triumph over the Sacramento Kings the night before, marking their third consecutive victory and five wins in their last six games.

The Timberwolves have faced a favorable schedule lately, taking on teams like the Jazz, Kings, Hornets, and Nets. Their only setback during this stretch was a tough loss against the New York Knicks, a game where they struggled against a more formidable opponent.

Star player Anthony Edwards led the charge against Utah, delivering an impressive performance with 35 points, along with six rebounds and six assists. His shooting was particularly notable, as he made 13 of 25 attempts, including five of nine from beyond the arc. Over his past three games, Edwards has excelled with a shooting percentage of 50% from three-point range, going 17-for-32 for the season.

The Timberwolves also saw significant contributions from Julius Randle, who posted a stat line of 27 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Rudy Gobert added a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Jaden McDaniels and Donte DiVincenzo chipped in with 16 and 14 points respectively.

Despite trailing by two points at halftime, the Timberwolves exploded in the third quarter, outscoring the Jazz 40-25. This surge included a remarkable 33-9 run in the first 8 1/2 minutes of the quarter, allowing them to build a substantial 22-point lead.

Head coach Chris Finch emphasized the team’s defensive improvements, noting, “We played pretty good defense, minus the fouling in the second half. I thought that was what kept us from building a bigger lead. But it feels like we’ve found some defensive intensity over the last few games.”

The Timberwolves will look to extend their winning streak when they host the Sacramento Kings at the Target Center in Minneapolis this Friday. As they continue to build momentum, there is excitement among fans for what lies ahead for this talented squad.
