The Tigers, sporting a record of 2-2-2, are unbeaten in their last four encounters with the Roadrunners, who also have a record of 2-2-2, dating back to 2019. Historically, Pacific leads the series against CSU Bakersfield with a 4-2-1 record.
Head coach highlighted the importance of the upcoming match against a Big West opponent that has achieved some positive results this season. He emphasized the need for improved execution and the excitement of playing at home just before entering conference competition.
Fifth-year player currently leads the Tigers with two goals from three shots on target. Meanwhile, junior is at the forefront with seven shots on goal, maintaining at least one shot attempt in each of the team’s six games this season. In goal, senior has displayed exceptional skill, keeping the team competitive throughout the year with an impressive .865 save percentage, .83 goals against average, and three shutouts in six starts. His performance ranks him first among West Coast Conference goalkeepers in save percentage, shutouts, and saves per game (5.33).
Both junior and senior have played every minute of the season thus far. Baltzer contributed to the Tigers’ recent efforts by scoring from a penalty kick in a game that ended in a 1-1 draw against Sacramento State last Sunday.
Like Pacific, the Roadrunners maintain a .500 record, having secured victories against Utah Tech and then-No. 18 Portland. Their last match concluded with a 1-1 draw against Gonzaga.
